You can print off these Terms, or store them in your computer, for future reference. By using the Site, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
1. About
The Site is provided by Globalaw Limited (‘we/us’), a limited liability company registered in Jersey under (registered) number 82178 whose registered office is at PO Box 1075, Elizabeth House, 9 Castle Street, St Helier, Jersey JE4 2QP, Channel Islands, United Kingdom.
2. USE OF THE SITe
2.1 The Site provides information about Globalaw and its members. The content of the Site is for general information only and should not be regarded as constituting legal or other advice or an offer to provide legal services. If you need legal advice on a specific matter please contact us and we will refer you to one or more member law firms of Globalaw in the appropriate jurisdiction. Certain sections of the Site are available to Globalaw members only (called the “login” section).
2.2 You may use the Site for your personal, non-commercial purposes only.
2.3 You must comply with all applicable laws in using the Site, and must not use the Site for any illegal or immoral purpose or impersonate any other person, or transmit any defamatory, infringing, obscene, harmful or otherwise objectionable or illegal material through the Site.
2.4 We reserve the right to suspend the Site at any time for operational, regulatory, legal or other reasons.
2.5 We cannot guarantee that the Site will be provided without interruption. Although all reasonable attempts will be made to ensure that the server that makes the Site available is bug and virus free, we cannot provide any guarantee in this respect.
2.6 We may terminate your use of the Site with immediate effect if you breach any of these Terms.
3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
3.1 The Site and its content are protected by intellectual property rights including copyright, as detailed in our Copyright Notice. Globalaw reserves its rights in such intellectual property.
3.2 You may copy extracts or extract quotes from articles or pages on the Site and distribute them to individual third parties for these purposes, provided that the source is clearly acknowledged. The authors of the material on the Site reserve their moral rights.
3.3 Subject to the above paragraph, you may not copy, download, adapt, alter, modify, rent, lease, sell, distribute, communicate or make available to the public or create derivative works of any content on the Site, in whole or in part.
4. OUR LIABILITY
4.1 The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and we do not guarantee that the Site will be available or suitable for your expectations or requirements. If your computer equipment does not support relevant technology, including encryption, you may not be able to use certain services or access certain information on the Site. Where messaging services are available on the Site, we will not be responsible for any failure of electronic messages or images (whether via the internet or SMS) sent through the Site to reach your intended recipient.
4.2 The Site is accessed via the World Wide Web which is independent of us. Your use of the World Wide Web is solely at your own risk and subject to all applicable national and international laws and regulations. We do not represent that the Site is appropriate or available for use in any jurisdiction other than the United Kingdom. We shall have no responsibility for any information or service obtained by you on the World Wide Web.
4.3 The content of the Site has been compiled from a variety of sources and is subject to change without notice. We use reasonable care in compiling and presenting the content of the Site, but we can give no guarantee that the content is complete, accurate or up to date.
4.4 Neither we nor Globalaw shall under any circumstances be liable for any unforeseeable loss or any business loss, including loss of profit, which results from the use of, or the inability to use, the Site.
4.5 Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability which may not be excluded by law.
5. PRIVACY POLICY
5.1 We take reasonable care to comply with the requirements of applicable laws relating to data protection, privacy and confidentiality.
5.2 For the purpose of applicable data protection legislation, the data controller is Globalaw Limited whose registered office is at PO Box 1075, Elizabeth House, 9 Castle Street, St Helier, Jersey JE4 2QP, Channel Islands, United Kingdom.
5.3 If you wish to receive information about Globalaw members and the services they can provide other than the information provided on the Site, we may ask you to supply certain information about yourself. This information may include your name, address, email address, telephone number, and any personal preferences. Except as set out below, we will not sell, distribute or disclose the information you provide without your consent or unless required or permitted to do so by law.
5.4 If any of the information you provide changes, please notify us at secretariat@globalaw.net.
5.5 We monitor Site usage and related Site information in order to optimise our service. We may give aggregated statistics to a reputable third-party, but these statistics will include no personal identifiable information.
5.6 If you wish to be considered for membership of Globalaw, you may complete and submit the Membership Application Questionnaire on the Site which involves providing personal information about yourself, your law firm and individuals who work at your law firm.
5.7 The information we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of the European Economic Area. By supplying any personal information to us, you agree to such transfer. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
5.8 If you have opted to receive information about future legal developments, or offers of services by Globalaw members that might be of particular interest to you or any other information, by email or by any other means and at any time you wish to stop receiving communications from us or any Globalaw member, please email us at secretariat@agshq.com or write to us at the address below stating that:
(a) I do not wish to receive information about future legal developments; and/or
(b) I do not wish to receive information about other services.

5.9 If Globalaw or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal data held by it about its customers may be one of the transferred assets.
6. DEALINGS WITH THIRD PARTIES AND LINKS
6.1 The Site may provide, or third parties may provide, links to other web sites or resources. As we have no control over such sites and resources (other than individual websites of Globalaw members), we are not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources, do not endorse and are not liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites or resources.
6.2 Before supplying any personal information to any other website, we recommend that you check that website’s privacy policy. We do not accept responsibility for the protection of any data supplied to other sites.
7. COOKIES
7.1 When you visit the Site we may store a small piece of information (commonly called a “cookie”) on the hard drive of your computer to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie helps you get the best out of the Site and helps us to provide you with a more personalised service. Cookies do not collect any personal information about the user. We use cookies so that you do not have to re-enter your details each time you visit the Site, and to track how the Site is used and to improve and update our content.
7.2 You can block or erase cookies from your computer if you want to (your browser’s help screen or manual should tell you how to do this), but certain parts of the Site are reliant on the use of cookies to operate correctly and may not work correctly if you set your browser not to accept cookies.

8.1 These Terms and the relationship between you and us shall be governed by the laws of England and the English courts shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
8.2 We reserve the right to change any of these Terms from time to time without prior notice, such changes becoming effective immediately upon posting to the Site. By continuing to use the Site, you will be deemed to accept any such changes.
